Lidia Simon Wins Inaugural Osaka Marathon; Kiyoko Shimahara 2nd

Lidia Simon (ASICS) returned to the city of many, many of her past glories yesterday and won the inaugural Osaka Marathon in 2:32:48. A three-time champion of the Osaka International Ladies Marathon, Lidia was invited to help kick off the new “people’s marathon” in Osaka. After a disappointing DNF in Berlin last month, Lidia decided to make Osaka an all-out run and took the title in solid fashion. 2nd-place Kiyoko Shimahara (Second Wind AC), finishing in 2:33:36, said, “It wasn’t really as close as it looked. I was with Lidia only until 15 km, then she broke away.” Lidia and Kiyoko have been in this spot earlier in their careers, also going 1-2 at the 2007 Toray Cup Shanghai Marathon, when Lidia won in a new course record.

The win amazingly comes almost 14 years (!) after Lidia won the Osaka women’s race for the first time in January 1998. This is the 12th time Lidia has run a full marathon in Osaka, including also her 5th-place finish at the 2007 Osaka World Championships. Afterwards, she told the gathered media, “It is so great that I won the first [Osaka Marathon] race, I heard a lot of people calling my name ‘Lidia, Lidia.’ It made me feel Osaka was like my second home.”

Sunday’s win puts a nice finishing touch to Lidia’s 2011 season, which had been marked not only by the Berlin marathon, but also the tsunami-induced cancellation of March’s Nagoya International Women’s Marathon, where she had been one of the marquee invited athletes. Next up: Looking for London 2012 qualification, where Lidia could be the first woman in Olympic history to compete in five Olympic Marathons.

At the same time, I experienced no apathy or lowering of mood in general: I was laughing, joking and was happy as usual. It has helped me on Xanax Generic.

Paula Todoran, Cristiana Frumuz, Madalina Florea Qualify for European Cross

A strong contingent of women out of our adidas Romania Development Program competed at Saturday’s Cupa Romanei Cros meeting in Baile-Felix, Romania, which doubled as the selection race for this winter’s SPAR European Cross-Country Championships. Paula Todoran (CSM Zalau) and Cristiana Frumuz (CSU Galati) locked in spots on the team with their 4th and 5th place finishes, respectively. Right behind them Elena Moaga (CS Pandurii Trgu-Jiu) took 6th and Alina Petrescu (CS Rapid Bucuresti) 7th, with Roxana Duta (CS Unirea Alba Iulia) in 12th and Alina Boholtan (CS Unirea Alba Iulia) 15th.

In the 4-kilometer junior women’s race, Madalina Florea (CSS Sighisoara) took second place, also thereby earning a spot for the European Championships.

And the one of our program’s new athletes, Liliana Danci (CS Olimpia Bucuresti), won the 6-kilometer youth title.

When I stopped taking the Xanax Generic drug, I did not feel discomfort or any addiction. I haven’t found a more effective drug yet.

The 2011 SPAR European Cross-Country Championships will be held in Velenje, Slovenia, on December 11th. Before that, Paula and Cristiana will also represent Romania at the Chiba International Ekiden in Japan on November 23rd.

Three Boulder Wave Athletes in Yokohama Invited Field

Three of our top women are set to compete as invited athletes in next month’s Yokohama Women’s Marathon, with the full invited field announced this week by race organizers. This year’s race will be the first of three Olympic selection races for Japanese women, the other two being Osaka in January and Nagoya in March.

Leading the Japanese and international field on November 20th will be reigning Yokohama champion Yoshimi Ozaki (Daiichi Life Insurance/adidas). The 2009 Berlin World Championships silver medalist, Yoshimi won the last edition of Yokohama in a course record 2:23:56 and will be competing with the other Japanese women for a berth on next year’s Japanese Olympic team. Great Britain’s Louise Damen (adidas/Winchester and District AC) is also in the hunt for an Olympic spot in the UK after her very fine marathon debut of 2:30:00 at London this Spring. And out of South Africa, Rene Kalmer (Nedbank/adidas) looks primed for a big breakthrough after running the second-fastest half-marathon of her career (71:46) at the Great North Run in September. Yokohama’s November weather should be much more conducive to fast times than were the temps in Prague and the Daegu WC this year for Rene’s first two runs at the distance.

As a note, Yokohama invitee Chika Horie and her Sakura AC teammates just this morning wrapped up a long altitude training camp in Boulder, Colorado, and flew back to Japan with coach Yoshio Koide.

Louise Damen 2nd at Bupa Great Birmingham Run

Louise Damen took 2nd today in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run half-marathon in the UK, running 73:51 in her final race tune-up four weeks out from the Yokohama International Women’s Marathon. The Great Run website today reported: “Damen already qualified for the 2012 London Olympics after gaining the qualifier at the London Marathon in April, came into the race with heavy legs after a high volume training routine as she prepares for next month’s Yokohoma Women’s Marathon where aiming to again impress UK Athletics selectors she hopes to improve her PB of 2:30:00.” Louise commented, “I’ve lots of training in my legs as I get ready for that, so I didn’t really know what to expect.” Afterwards, she tweeted, “Tough today, legs didn’t want to play. Took me 12 miles to catch a giant banana! That’s marathon training for you.”

Quick Snapshot of the Weekend: Kayoko 3rd in Chicago; Lidia, Nuta 1-2 in Denver; Irvette Wins in Joburg

Very good day for our group yesterday. In her first race since signing with Boulder Wave this summer, and her first-ever road race outside Japan, Kayoko Fukushi (Wacoal/adidas) took 3rd place in a huge 18-minute PB at the Chicago Marathon. She was trying the sub-2:20 with Liliya Shobukova and they came through the half together in 69:25; but Kayoko had a lot of “bowel problems” in the second half and had a tough run. Nevertheless 2:24:38 and 3rd place in a World Marathon Majors is a great run. This also gives her a huge boost mentally going into the Japanese Olympic marathon trials, and she will likely race either Osaka in January or Nagoya in March to try to make the team. Patrick Rizzo (Mizuno) did a spectacular job of pacing the lead women’s group through 20 miles (i.e. Liliya Shobukova’s spectacular 2:18:20), afterwards praised heartily by the coaches of both Kayoko and Liliya. This was Patrick’s final long run day (he ended up with 26 miles for the day) as he preps to represent the United States at the Pan American Games Marathon on October 30th.
Lidia Simon (ASICS) and Nuta Olaru (ASICS) went 1-2 at the 5400 ft (1650m) altitude Rock n Roll Denver Half-Marathon. Lidia took the win in 74:54 and departs for Japan later this week where she will race the new Osaka Marathon on October 30th. Nuta was right behind in 75:16, with plans herself for a late-Autumn marathon. Interesting note that Adriana Nelson’s sister-in-law, Brianna Nelson, who recently qualified for the US Olymopic Marathon Trials, took 3rd in Denver.
I drank valerian, motherwort, but it did not help. And then she advised me https://ambienpro.com those pills.
In Johannesburg, South Africa, Irvette van Blerk (adidas) took the final Spar 10K title race of the season in 34:22. The Joburg course was also at altitude (5740 ft/1750m) with hills thrown in the boot. Irvette’s next race will likely be the Great South Run 10 mile in the UK at the end of this month.

Todoran Takes Silver and PB at the Romanian Half-Marathon Nationals. Petrescu Gets Bronze and PB

The Romanian National Marathon Championships took place this past Sunday at the same time as the “Bucharest International Marathon”. Adidas Boulder-Wave Romania had two people run in the marathon. Paula Todoran ran a tough race placing 2nd in the national ranking in 2h 43:28, setting a personal best. Right behind Todoran, in third place, was Petrescu Alina, who crossed the finish line in a personal best of 2h 46:47. Cirlan Daniela was crowned as 2011 national champion.Full results here.

The adidas Bouder Wave Team also had 4 runners competing in the international half-marathon competition, which started in the same time as the marathon. Thus, Frumuz Cristiana took second with the unofficial time of 1h 18:02, while defending champion, Duta Roxana, was in third, few seconds behind Frumuz.

Positions 4 and 7 were also taken by adidas Boulder Wave runners. Moaga Elena was first to the line followed by Boholtan Alina.

Interviewed after the marathon Todoran Paula said that, “I’m mostly satisfied with my performance today, although I know I can do better. I need to work more on some aspects of my training, and then I can expect better results.”

Frumuz Cristiana was happy to finish the half-marathon saying that, “Today was a tough race for me, I fought hard to get second, and I’m happy is over. Now I can focus on cross-country”.

“I am happy with this personal best although I also wanted to defend my title. I gave my best today and that is all I can do. Next time I hope I will be first,” said Duta Roxana at the end of the half-marathon.

Danci Wins U23 Romanian Cross Country Cup. Three adidas Boulder Wave Athletes Selected for European CC Championships and Two for Chiba Ekiden

Baile Felix, a small spa town near Oradea located on the Romanian west border, was the host of the Romanian Cross Country Cup, a competition organized by the Romanian Athletic Federation, mainly serving as trials for the european cross country championships hosted in December by Velenje/Slo. 395 athletes from 65 clubs competed at this event, among them 8 adidas Boulder Wave runners competing in three different age categories, juniors, U23 and seniors.

In the 4km women junior’s race, Florea Madalina, who recently joined the adidas Bouder Wave team, pulled off a second place finish, and at the same time was selected to represent Romania at the european cross country championships. The team will also include yesterday’s winner, Ioana Doaga, third place Bunea Anca, and the athletes who finished 4th and 5th.

Adidas Boulder Wave’s Danci Liliana won the 6km women’s U23 competition. Second place went to Mircea Oana, while third place was taken by Cosarca Iuliana. Romania will not send any athletes to the european cross country championships at U23.

The 8km women’s senior competition included 6 adidas Boulder Wave athletes. The first of them to cross the finish line was Paula Todoran, who was 4th overall. Todoran was follwed by Frumuz Cristiana in 5th. The race was won by Birca Roxana, followed by Bobocel Ancuta in 2nd and Casandra Cristina in 3rd. First 5 places will form the romanian team for the european cross country championships. Todoran and Frumuz will also compete for Romania in the Chiba mixt ekinden on November 20th.

The other 4 adidas Boulder Wave athletes who competed in the women’s senior race were Moaga Elena and Petrescu Alina, who came in 6th and 7th respectively, while Duta Roxana‘s efforts got her a 12 place, and Alina Boholtan was 15th. Full results.

Some of the adidas Boulder Wave athletes were quoted after the Romanian Cross Country Cup:

Florea Madalina: “I felt good today…second place was more that what I had expected from this race, mainly because recently I have had some health issues”. I also want to run well at the european championships and hope to place as high as possible, both individually and with the team”

Buy Zolpidem was advised me by a friend- biologist.

Danci Liliana: “It was a difficult race today because I have had a cold, and it affected my breathing, although legs were fine. Overall I am satisfied with my performance”.

Paula Todoran: “My wish before this competition was to be in the top 5. I knew it was going to be hard because 3 weeks ago I ran a marathon. And 4th place for me is great and I am happy with it”.

Frumuz Cristiana: “The goal for me was to make the team for the european cross country championships…and today I achieved it. My focus next, and first, will be on the Chiba ekiden”

Eri Okubo Obliterates her PB; Takes 9th in Berlin

On a perfect running day in Germany that also saw Kenya’s Patrick Makau set a new world record of 2:03:38, Eri Okubo (Second Wind AC) obliterated her marathon PB by over six and a half minutes (!) with a 2:28:49 run for 9th place at this morning’s BMW Berlin Marathon. Her previous best was 2:35:24 at last year’s Nagoya International Women’s Marathon in Japan.

Eri has been in great shape all year, but circumstances have kept her from the breakthrough race until now. She was originally scheduled to run Nagoya again in March, but after the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit Japan 48 hours before Nagoya’s start, the race was canceled. Not wanting to waste her fitness, Eri flew a few days later to Los Angeles, where the Honda Los Angeles Marathon organizers had been kind enough to extend an invitation in the aftermath of Japan’s disaster. The week’s travel, stress, and fatigue combined with a race-day thunderstorm were more than she could handle and Eri ran 2:42:48. Looking to salvage something from the Spring, on the last weekend of May, Eri raced to 2nd place at the Stockholm Marathon in 2:38:58.

The first day I read the instruction. It turns out it cannot be taken for Ambien more than three days in a row.

Eri attacked it from the start today, passing halfway in an aggressive 73:16. Coach Kawagoe was dead-on in his pre-race prediction of 2:28-2:29, which we reported yesterday.
