Quick note on the US men’s 8K Championship in hot and muggy Carmel, Indiana on June 11th. Josh Moen (Mizuno) took 6th in 23:21, with Patrick Rizzo (Mizuno) also stepping up to the top 10 with a 23:51 good for 10th.

Paired with his runner-up finish at last month’s US 25K Championships, Josh now sits in 4th place in the 2012 USA Running Circuit standings with 17 points. Next up is this Saturday’s Steamboat Classic 4 Mile, where Josh has twice finished in the top 5.

Patrick heads next to Australia, where coach Lee Troop has arranged an invitation to the Gold Coast Half-Marathon.

On tap this weekend…Irvette van Blerk and Diane Johnson race the Freihofer’s 5K. Both women made school visits in Albany on Friday as part of the race’s community outreach program…Sara Vaughn pacing the women’s 1500m at Pre Classic, a few days after moving to Portland, Oregon, with husband Brent and their two children…Edna Kiplagat racing the TCS World 10K Bangalore, where Constantina Dita is the Event Ambassador.
