In the 4km women junior’s race, Florea Madalina, who recently joined the adidas Bouder Wave team, pulled off a second place finish, and at the same time was selected to represent Romania at the european cross country championships. The team will also include yesterday’s winner, Ioana Doaga, third place Bunea Anca, and the athletes who finished 4th and 5th.
Adidas Boulder Wave’s Danci Liliana won the 6km women’s U23 competition. Second place went to Mircea Oana, while third place was taken by Cosarca Iuliana. Romania will not send any athletes to the european cross country championships at U23.
The 8km women’s senior competition included 6 adidas Boulder Wave athletes. The first of them to cross the finish line was Paula Todoran, who was 4th overall. Todoran was follwed by Frumuz Cristiana in 5th. The race was won by Birca Roxana, followed by Bobocel Ancuta in 2nd and Casandra Cristina in 3rd. First 5 places will form the romanian team for the european cross country championships. Todoran and Frumuz will also compete for Romania in the Chiba mixt ekinden on November 20th.
The other 4 adidas Boulder Wave athletes who competed in the women’s senior race were Moaga Elena and Petrescu Alina, who came in 6th and 7th respectively, while Duta Roxana‘s efforts got her a 12 place, and Alina Boholtan was 15th. Full results.

Florea Madalina: “I felt good today…second place was more that what I had expected from this race, mainly because recently I have had some health issues”. I also want to run well at the european championships and hope to place as high as possible, both individually and with the team”

Danci Liliana: “It was a difficult race today because I have had a cold, and it affected my breathing, although legs were fine. Overall I am satisfied with my performance”.
Paula Todoran: “My wish before this competition was to be in the top 5. I knew it was going to be hard because 3 weeks ago I ran a marathon. And 4th place for me is great and I am happy with it”.
Frumuz Cristiana: “The goal for me was to make the team for the european cross country championships…and today I achieved it. My focus next, and first, will be on the Chiba ekiden”
